In the Studio

I'm continuing to working with pastels on black paper. I like the variety of ways I can paint light coming out of the darkness or dramatizing darkness with a focus on a lighted area. I love the deep rich colors and values, even the varieties of blacks. I have been giving considerable thought to experimenting with oils. It's been years since I did any serious work in oil and would have to make minor changes to the studio. Until the brushes get going, I'll keep pushing the pastels around the paper.

What's going on and upcoming events.

• I am now holding classes at the Arts Umbrella Studio, located at Country Village, 23718 Bothell Everett Hwy, Bothell, Washington 98021. Each class is four weeks in length and meet for three hours on Wednesdays. Contact Jannelle for information.
